A day off...and many more to come

Day 1 of not having to work.

Went for a run and saw PTA members out in sashes.
Also saw a pretty flower.
Took a silly selfie.
Saw a mysterious glowing yellow object in the sky.
And went to my last language exchange in Nagoya - sad day!

Last Day

Well, the term has ended and the welcome sign is down. It was a lovely day of parties and finishing things, but I'm pretty drained!
At the end of the day, 8 of us went bowling. Here's where you get the shoes:
Yes, that says Auto Shoeser. I am needed here. Well, good nigh...zzzz.

My day

I had breakfast out of a vending machine.
I spent ages making bags out of paper because I didn't want to waste money or paper buying a big pack of bags.
I didn't get home until quite late, so I bought a gross-looking curry from the convenience store. It tasted better than it looked! It would have to...
It was a tiring day, but all the important stuff is ready for our end of term party tomorrow. But one student said, "I don't want tomorrow to come."

I will NOT get choked up!

Hmm, it's time for today's blog. But today wasn't super exciting, blog-wise. I only took pictures of classroom materials to keep track.
Here's a conversation cube a student made.

And here are some shots from a year ago!
Gray a year ago, gray today! Sun, please!
I must admit, I'm really looking forward to a break from city life for a little while. Cities are fun, but a girl needs some room to breathe!

Sunday Scenes

I can't believe there are only 3 teaching days left in the term. On the other hand, part of me feels like I arrived in Japan a year ago. But a year ago, I was still living in Hokkaido. This has been the longest year ever (and that's a good thing). Anyway, here are some scenes from today.

Here's the patch of flowers from yesterday's photo. Blink, and you might miss them!
Sometimes, you forget you are in another country. Then you see...
On the subway this afternoon, there was a line of footprints down the car.
Also seen on the subway - an ad for my toothpaste. But why can't we see their teeth?

Rainy Saturday

Today was a really good day! Here are the highlights.

I took my breakfast to a park and studied Japanese.
When it started to rain on me after a couple of hours, I headed off.

There's kind of a bizarre fountain in the park.
I like this little waterway, even though it's a little smelly.
This afternoon, I headed to the station. On the way, I finally took a picture of some pretty flowers growing in a patch on the sidewalk.
Then, I spent ages at Starbucks reading and studying.
Mmmmmmm...just what I needed!
