Rebun flowers

The flowers are just starting on Rebun island, and they are lovely. The island is famous for its flowers. Because of the island weather, some flowers that normally grow in alpine areas grow on the island.

One of the famous flowers is called atsumorisou. It has a very short blooming season, and I always managed to miss it...until this year. The atsumorisou is one of the symbols of the island, and it is surprisingly well-guarded. One patch was surrounded by barbed wire and a security camera, and the other had several rangers and fences. The rest of the flowers just grow wild, although some areas on the island have warning signs about not disturbing the area. I think atsumorisou is the fourth picture. It's a white flower all by itself.
