Ten years ago today, I graduated from college. I know what you are thinking! Since when did they let 7 year olds graduate from college?! I kid, I kid.

Honestly, that day feels like a lifetime ago! It has been a long and awesome 10 years!

Anyway, here I am being a ham to commemorate the occasion today.

College graduate for 10 years and I STILL can't spell occasion without help from autocorrect.

Back 40 update - flower time

Last weekend, I bought the flowers in the bucket. Today, I got them put into the bucket (I was short on dirt).

Just now, the first tulip started blooming! I need to get a close shot, because it's the kind with the raggedy edges. So pretty.

The radishes are rapidly growing, and the spinach is growing bit by bit.

The weeds are doing quite well. Lol!

As soon as the weather warms up a bit, I'm going to get some tomato plants. Yay!

Cloudy island morning and seaweed fun

Today, I'm on Rebun Island. Cloudy and grey, but still pretty.

Dinner at the pension was really delicious. Part of dinner was a seaweed that we dipped into a hot broth. When the seaweed went into the hot broth, it turned from brown to bright green. The pictures aren't in perfect order, but you can probably guess which is which.

We also had my favorite Japanese soup for dinner - tonjiru. It's pork and miso soup with all kinds of other yummy stuff. Mmmm.

This month has been pretty gray, cold, and windy so far. I'm ready to leave the coat behind and frolic. But alas, it is not yet meant to be.

Last week, we had some sunny days. Here's what I saw.

Yep, it's our old friend Mt. Rishiri. It's nice to see him back. He's been on vacation, I think!
