First things first – I think spring has come! The snow has melted off many of the sidewalks…it is still hanging around in big piles, but I wore non-boots today! And it was almost not cold today. And the sun was shining! The hills are still snow covered, but spring is in the air!
So, today was also my periodic health check at the gym. This is the lovely time when I get to get weighed and measured like a Christmas turkey. Then I have to attempt to perform amazing feats of fitness, like balancing on one leg (actually, I’ve not done so well on that the last few checks). Well, I wasn’t too worried, because I pretty much know the routine by now. However, much to my consternation, I walked into the gym to discover that one of the new staff members, a tiny wisp of a thing, would be doing my health check.
Thanks, world. I needed that.
In other news, I scored level 4 out of 5 on my 30 second sit-ups. Try not to be too impressed.
This evening, some really cool people had a small dinner party for all 3 of us ALTs in town. It was a lovely evening with good food and great conversation. The evening ended with coffee, which is one reason I am bright eyed and bushy tailed at 12:50 am. Oopsie.
I leave you with a train picture from a week ago. It won’t be long before things look VERY different!
