Flu and blizzards

So, the bro has been here for almost two weeks, and it has been wonderful. Some tough things happened early on – a dear friend’s father back home passed away. It was so hard to be here and not be able to be there for her. Her dad was an amazing wise and godly man, and I’m glad that I had the chance to know him. My heart just breaks for his family that is still here, though.

This week, the bro and I both came down with that lovely scourge of winter – influenza. Thankfully, we had done most of what we wanted to do in the week before. Today, we are venturing back out into the world – should be interesting.

We have had two blizzards since the bro came – not just the regular kind, but the kind that cancels trains. That does not happen so often here (we special ordered it for maximum impressiveness).

We have also had some remarkably beautiful days, too. Like this:CIMG5682

This was the day we went to a local park with a ton of winter activities.

OK, will write more later!
